Alfalfa Sprouts

Alfalfa sprouts are the shoots of the alfalfa plant, harvested before they become the full-grown plant (Healthy Eating, nd).

Alfalfa sprouts has a reputation for being effective in reducing the symptoms of seasonal allergies such as hay fever because it’s claimed to act like an antihistamine and stimulate the immune system.  Additionally, alfalfa sprouts can add crunch to a sandwich, and contain a variety of minerals and vitamins.
